THE NEW ENTRANCE area to the Mount Hutt Memorial Hall. Methven, which has been built from proceeds from the last floral festival. The hall is the main centre of social and recreational activities in the township, and festival funds in the past have also assisted in its maintenance and upkeep. With a Government subsidy, the hall costing £32,000 was erected on the Holmes Reserve In 1956. It was built and furnished free of debt, because of the concerted effort of the community in raising funds for the hall.
