Top Table Tennis Teams Lose
The highlight of the second round of the summer senior table tennis competition last evening was the defeat of the champion team Linwood I. by the club's number two side. L. Vallance produced his best table tennis to win all singles for Linwood II- Ano ’P e * feature of the contest was that G. R. Saunders, ranked number five in Canterbury, failed to score a singles win. 4 Mrs T. May and R. G. Hart won all their singles matches to enable Selwyn to defeat Mailables by a convincing 10-2. In the remaining contests, Avonside II beat Riccarton, 8-4, and Avonside 111 defeated Avonside I, 13 games to 12. after matches had been drawn at oAn unusual feature of last night’s play was that all te * m ? which scored a win in the oral round, suffered defeat the second. This has resulted in all teams in the competition being equal with two points each.
