N.Z. SCORER NAMED
Mr R. M. Cairns, who is in Britain on leave of absence from the reporting staff of “The Press,” has been appointed scorer for the New Zealand cricket team's tour of' England next year. The 22-year-old Mr Cairns has scored for Canterbury many times and for New Zealand in test matches in Christchurch.
U.N.E.S.C.O. Science Prize. —A British professor, Robert Simpson Silvern, inventor of the multi-stage distillation process used to produce more than 100 million tons of fresh water from sea water daily throughout the world, has been awarded the U.N.E.S.C.O. science prize—New York, November 6.
