FIVE NEW MEMBERS
Transport Board The Citizens’ Association retained control of the Christchurch Transport Board on Saturday, when only one of the four sitting Labour members, Mr R. H. Stillwell, kept his seat. New members are Messrs K. H. Bartlett, a jeweller, D. A. R. Mcßeth, a carrier, and W. R. Campbell, chairman of the Metropolitan Fire Board, in the city, and Messrs F. S. Blogg, a contractor, and G. A. G. Connal, a retired solicitor, in Waimairi. The board’s chairman, Mr J. R. Smith was returned for Paparua-Heathcote in a small poll which reflected the lack of issues in many of the county ridings. Saturday-night voting figures are: City
