Charges Are Denied (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MEXICO CITY. Dr H. Kaeser, the secretarygeneral of the International Football Federation, has emphatically denied charges of professionalism in Olympic soccer. Dr Kaeser said football in the Olympics was “as amateur as any other Olympic sport.” “Footballers here are no more professional than athletes from Eastern Europe.” He said he had not heard of the admission by the Colombian football delegation they were fielding “semi-p~> fessionals” because, they alleged, Mexico and Brazil had already introduced professionals to the Olympic ranks. Earlier last week the chief Colombian soccer delegate. Mr M. A. Ruan, said most members of the Colombian team were first division “semi-professional” players. “We were happy to send only pure amateurs until we lost two consecutive matches with Mexico here last year in which the Mexicans fielded many professionals,” he said.
