The top three teams in the English first division all won on Saturday, so Leeds United remains in front with 22 points from 13 games after its 2-0 win against West Ham. Liverpool and Arsenal are one point behind, but have played one game more than Leeds. Liverpool beat Manchester United. 2-0, but United, which will meet Estudiantes in the second leg of the world club championship on Wednesday, was able to field only four regular first team players.
