Squash Title To Isaacs
(N.Z. Prezz Azzoeiation) TIMARU J. N. Isaacs (Wellington) achieved his greatest success to date when he won the Alliance Textiles open squash tournament at Timaru during the week-end. Isaacs beat the former New Zealand champion, D. Burmeister (Remuera), 9-4, 9-3, 9-0, in the final. Isaacs had been given no chance of winning, but Burmeister was reckoned to be indestructible. Burmeister had dropped only one set in disposing of B. J. Rippin (Timaru), fellow New Zealand representative, Q. A. Davidson (Ashburton), and the former New Zealand champion, C. Waugh (Auckland) on his way through to the final.
