CONCORDE DELAY
Test Flight Postponed (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright; PARIS, Oct 13. The first test flight of the prototype British-French Concorde supersonic airliner has been postponed until January or February because its makers, Sud Aviation, have decided on more ground tests. “Our engineers are taking no chances in checking, rechecking, and checking again and again every bit of equipment in the aircraft’s 312 miles of wiring,” a Sud Aviation spokesman said today. “If it was a matter of prestige, we could fly it tomorrow,” he added. Concorde 002, being built at the British Aircraft Corporation’s plant at Bristol, is expected to make its first test flight by the end of this year.
