THE BIGGEST DISPLAY OF LAND, SEA AND AIR RESCUE EQUIPMENT EVER TO BE SEEN IN NEW ZEALAND I SUMNER TOMORROW SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 FREE I PROGRAMME (times approximate only) 2.00 Water ski-ing demonstration and jet boat display. 2.10 Canterbury Aero Club will drop three parachutists into the sea. Immediately the Sumner lifeboat alarm will sound and the crew will demonstrate their ability to launch the boat within four minutes. 2.30 Surf life-saving demonstration. 2.45 Cliff face rescue demonstration at Scarborough by search and rescue organisation and Police. 3.05 Display by Royal New Zealand Navy launch. 3.10 Water ski-ing demonstration and jet boat display. 3.30 Three more parachutists will drop into the sea, and another rescue demonstration by the Sumner lifeboat and crew will follow. 4.00 R.N.Z.A.F. will drop a 10ft .rubber dinghy to parachutist in water—this to be followed by an aerobatic display. 4.15 “Sailpast” of all boats demonstrated during the afternoon. STATIC DISPLAYS AT SUMNER ON SUNDAY Combined R.N.Z.A.F./R.N.Z.N. display of air and sea rescue equipment. A jet boat display. Previous Sumner lifeboats Rescue I and Old Whaler.
