Warning On Liquids
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct 3. A strong warning against the use of any volatile liquid in a washing machine was issued by the chief inspector of explosives of the Department of Internal Affairs (Mr E. L. Sellens) in Wellington today. Washing machines were designed for water washing and it would be dangerous to use any inflammable liquid in them, Mr Sellens said. The motors of washing machines were not designed to be used in contact with volatile gas and would be an easy point of ignition.
