Good Win By New Rider A cyclist new to the sport, S. Boon, rode a solid, steady race to win the Mairehau Novice Wheelmen’s annual Kaiapoi-to-Chrlstchurch 13-mile classic on Saturday morning. Boon was in the lead before the field turned into Kainga and held his lead from a big bunch of nine middle-markers who were in hot pursuit. B. Reid sprinted In his co-markers, R. Reid, A. J. Howson and P. Robinson, for second place. J. F. Delore gained the fastest time when he sprinted the other break-mark riders, G. V. Neale and P. J. Reddock. The scratch bunch split up rather badly and all came in individually. A. V. Barford, the strongest of them, was the first to the finish. 18sec down on time. Results:
