Plans To Improve N.Z. Image In Aust.
(N Z PA. Staff Correspondent) SYDNEY, September 13. New Zealand leaders in Sydney will meet again next week to discuss plans for a campaign to improve New Zealand’s image in Australia.
A spokesman for Air New Zealand, which called an initial meeting on the subject on August 20, said today that there had been no plans to hold another meeting this week.
Mr R. S. Austin, general manager of the Tourist and Publicity Department, Wellington, was reported on Tuesday as saying another meeting was scheduled for this week. Executives of Air New Zealand, the New Zealand Government Travel Commissioner (Mr L. Manning), the publicity representative (Mr C. Hall), and the senior trade commissioner (Mr A. C. Davys) attended the first meeting.
The meeting decided to “explore a number of possibilities” to enhance the image of New Zealand in Australia.
A spokesman said: “There was a feeling that the image of New Zealand could be fur-
ther advanced and that, wand, co-ordination of the many resources available could Improve the position.”
