Jeffrey Has Double
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. The Canterbury rider, K. Jeffrey, became only the second man on Saturday to finish first and take fastest time in the round-the-niountain (Mount Egmont) 100-cycle race on Saturday. He beat G. Wills (New Plymouth), by o.2sec in a time of 4hr 18min 58sec. G. Knuckey (New Plymouth), 4hr 27min 25sec, was third. Jeffrey equalled the feat of S. Will* (G. Wills’ older brother), who did the double in 1965 with a time of 4hr 20min 53 sec. J. Willcox (Christchurch), shr Imin ssec. was eleventh, and B. O'Donnell (Chrietchurch), shr 22min 53sec, was fifteenth.
