P.O. Design Contest
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 12. A competition is to be held by the Post Office to find artistic talent for the designing of New Zealand’s next definitive stamp issue in 1970. This was announced today by the Postmaster-General (Mr Scott) who said the competition would be held in two stages. The first stage, which was open to anyone of 16 years of age or over who was normally resident in New Zealand, provided for designs to be produced in any media. The second stage involved the selection of a number of artists and designers from the award winners of the first stage to prepare, on a commission basis, designs for the new stamp issues.
