Week Ends On Active, Firm Note

The sharemarket finished the week’s trading on an active and firm note yesterday, with rises well ahead of falls, in heavy trading over a wide range. Leaders confirmed the trend.

Reserves The net overseas assets of the New Zealand banking system fell $40.7m, to $173.7m in the week to September 4, the Reserve Bank announced. This time last year they were $106.3m.
