MELBOURNE Some nickels made further gains early, then closed bekow their day’s high. Over all, minings closed on a fairly steady note. Best gains were shown in C.R.A., up 30c at 2130 c, and Great Boulder, up 50c at 1870 c. Falls were headed by North Kalg., down 60c at 1420 c, and New 8.H., down 50c at 1750 c. Industrials were generally firm, with rises well outnumbering falls. B.H.P. was outstanding, finishing 90c lower at 2000 c. Sales.— Ampol, 148; Ansett, 69; A.R.C., 83; Assoc.
