Laboratory Addition
Tenders will be called for a second storey to be added to the National Radiation Laboratory in Christchurch. This would enable the whole of the ground floor to be used for laboratory space, said the director (Mr G. E. Roth) yesterday. Upstairs would be sited library, office and lecture room space.
The additional floor would only affect the Victoria Street frontage, he said, and the extension would enable low and high radiation activity to be separated and placed at each end of the building on the ground floor. Floor area of the extension would be 5800 square feet.
