HORNBY’S LAST CUP AT STAKE
The Hornby Rugby league senior team, having lost the Pat Smith Challenge Trophy, Desmond-Rogers Challenge Trophy and Vivian Cup this season, will be eager to retain its last prize, the Barr Cup, against Papanui at Hornby Domain tomorrow.
Hornby has held the BanCup, competed for by Hornby, Papanui and MaristWestern Suburbs as a mem-
orial to lan Barr, who played for all three clubs, since 1959. The advantage of playing on its home ground, its loss of only one player, B. Jager, to the Canterbury 21-years team at Dunedin, and its spirited display in defence of the Vivian Cup against the same opponent should make Hornby a difficult team to beat
Papanui will be without P. C. Napier, M. R. Napier, D. Martin, R. S. Walker and K. G. Walker. P. C. Napier will be married tomorrow and the other three have been selected to travel to Dunedin.
