FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anticyclone centred in the Tasman Sea extends on to New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds, westerlies predominating inland; scattered showers in the high country, otherwise fine cool weather. Marlborough and Nelson. Moderate to fresh winds from the westerly quarter; fine with moderate day temperatures. Buller and Westland.—South-westerlies occasionally fresh in exposed places; cloudy and cool with occasional showers.
