State Salary Adjustments (N.Z. Preit Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 10. The Government hoped to reach agreement soon with the Combined State Service Organisations about the passing on of the recent 5 per cent general wage order to State servants, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today. He said in a telegram to the secretary of the C.S.S.O. (Mr D. P. Long) that the Government was seeking information on the practice adopted in outside industry. The chairman of the Auckland Public Service Association (Mr J. W. Stewart) had earlier accused the Government of procrastination over the 5 per cent increase.
