Friesian Bull Sale
(N.Z. Presf Association) HAMILTON, September 11. Last year’- average was bettered by $5 a head at the national Friesian bull sale, at Claudelands, Hamilton, yesterday when 28 bulls averaged $282.
The offering of 41 bulls from as far north as Whangarei to Canterbury in the south came forward in good condition.
The 26 yearlings sold averaged $273 and the two two-year-olds averaged $4OO. The top price of $6OO was paid for the reserve champion in the show judging, a yearling, Hilseee Hillside Jekyll Noel. It was sold by Mr R. G. Mickell, of Tauwhare, to Messrs Duke and Charleton, of Hamilton. Second best price of $4BO was realised for the grand champion, the two-year-old, Waitiro L. G. John, on account of Waitiro Farms, Ltd, of Clevedon.
