Bowlers’ Hems To Rise
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N., Sept. 11. Women bowlers throughout New Zealand may now raise their hemlines one inch. This controversial issue was decided by the New Zealand Women’s Bowling Association at its conference in Palmerston North, yesterday. This is the first time the hemline has been changed since 1963. Women bowlers will be able to wear skirts and frocks with the hemline 14in off the ground.
