Fire Station Wanted
Because of the development In the rural areas north-east of Christchurch, and the great public use of northern beaches, there should be provision for a fire station to serve the area, Mr D. B. Rich said at the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board’s meeting last evening. There should be “pretty definite action,” first to acquire land for a fire station, and then to build it, he said.
Mr W. R. Campbell, the chairman, said there had been discussions in the past on a suggestion that a station be sited near Chaneys; but the time was opportune for reopening discussions. ) The board agreed that It should have a meeting with the Waimairi County Council.
