UNEXPECTED BONUS

Paean Of Praise

The New Zealand Industries Fair executive yesterday received an unexpected bonus and a paean of praise 11 days after the fair in Canterbury Court had closed. The chief executive officer of the fair (Mr R. T. Alston) received a postal note for 30c from a man in Palmerston North. “My wife and two children and myself thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your trade fair while we were holidaying in Christchurch,” the man wrote. “Mistake Made” “When purchasing tickets, I asked for three adults and one child, and received tickets for two adults and one child. It was not until we were on our way home that I realised a mistake had been made. So please find postal note from Palmerston North. "The working exhibits and many other displays and demonstrations were certainly a real credit. We wouldn’t hesitate to attend another fair when holidaying in Christchurch another year. All the best for your future efforts.” Mr Alston said the fair organisers were “thrilled” to get the letter. The postal note was being returned with thanks.
