BONDING SYSTEM
Review By Minister (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept IL The Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) said in Parliament tonight that he was examining anomalies in the bonding system for student teachers. He said during the second reading debate of the Education Amendment Bill that it was difficult to frame bonding regulations which were firm but which allowed some room to manoeuvre.
“In some cases in the past I would have liked to release a student from his bond, but the regulations were too exact,” he said.
Earlier, Labour Party speakers had said that when students tied to teaching bonds found themselves unsuitable to the profession they should be released and employed in some other Government department.
