Obituary
MR R. B. McNISH Mr Ronald Bruce McNish, a former treasurer and president of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, died suddenly in Christchurch on Saturday. Mr McNish, who was in business on his own account at the time of his death, was educated at the Cathedral Grammar School. After joining the Commercial Bank of Australia, he was posted to Greymouth but later returned to Christchurch, where he subsequently joined the Department of Industries and Commerce. During World War 11, Mr McNish served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, in New Zealand and afterwards again worked for the Department of Industries and Commerce. Mr McNish later joined A. M. Satterthwaite and Company, Ltd, and afterwards L. L. Jones and Son, Ltd. While employed by these two companies, he served on the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce executive as treasurer, vice-president, and president. He was a member of the Russley Golf Club, and chairman of its finance committee Mr McNish is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
