Lay Preaching Course

An eight-week course of worship and preaching for Methodist lay preachers who are preparing to sit the lav preachers’ examination will begin at Deaconess House, Latimer Square tomorrow. The course, which is being organised by the North Canterbury Methodist District Education Council, will be led by the Rev. J. Langley, minister of the Somerfield Methodist Church. Another course on “Creative Listening.” of special interest to lay pastors, will begin on September 27. The district training organiser, Miss P. Bell, said that it would be limited to 12 persons and would run for six weeks. It would be led by the Rev. G. Trebilco, minister of the Sydenham Methodist Church with the help of another person who was experienced in counselling, she said.
