UNPLEASANT FLAVOUR

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Sept. 3. Complaints were received yesterday by the Okitu Dairy Company and the Health Department about contamination in the Gisborne milk supply. A Health Department inspector, Mr J. R. S. Findon, said the contamination was probably caused by chlorine used in the final washing of the bottles. “The milk is not dangerous to consumers, but its flavour is unpleasant enough to make people aware of its presence," he said. “This is the first time a complaint of this type has come to our notice.”
