A West German woman tried to smuggle 28 gold pieces weighing 541 b into Indonesia in her brassiere, a Djakarta court was told today

Mrs Margriet Freudenreich. aged 44, flew into Djakarta last month, the prosecution said, and her sagging breasts and tottering gait as she stepped from the plane roused the suspicion of airport officials. The woman, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of smuggling, told the court she had brought the gold into Indonesia to sell, but did not know she would need a permit.

The trial was adjourned until Thursday.
