Nodding Thistle

Sir,—l see the Hawarden public are going to hold a meeting about grubbing nodding thistle. They will be wasting their time as they have only got to go down to Kurow and Hakataramea to find hundreds of acres of nodding thistle. There they are treated as if thev were Scotch thistles. I was down there at Christmas time and saw the lot, and spoke to some of the farmers, and was told that they are not on the noxious weeds list in their area. It is only a matter of a few southwesters and thev will be up here in their millions and the fun will begin then. Grubbers will be working overtime.— Yours, etc., T. L. JONES. Cheviot, September 2, 1968.
