HANDBAG TIPS

I dislike large handbags, says Norman Hartnell. Some of my clients come into the salon clutching bags as big as briefcases. I wonder why they need to, unless it is to impress or for sandwiches.

I recently designed my own range of handbags and found that one can put everything a woman needs into a bag that is quite modest in size. One way to save space is to eliminate the need for an enormous compact I did it by hiding a mirror under the buckle on the exterior of the bag.

I found that women only buy new handbags when their existing bag has fallen apart They seem to expect them to last a life time.

Well, they do not, especially if regularly overfilled. And remember that gloves, bag, shoes and hat do not need to match. If you wear a lot of blue, your bag could be blue to match dress or coat

Black gloves are fine for a stone coloured bag, if your shoes are black, too. Otherwise, just try to match your bag and gloves.
