OVERSEAS TRADING

SYDNEY

The Sydney stock market began the week on a quiet note, with turnovers generally being below that of Friday.

Mining stocks continued to drift back. Great Boulder, Looma. Metals Exploration and C.R.A. all lost ground. Norseman and Ravensthorpe remained virtually unchanged on Friday s close.

King Island Scheelite, currently in the take-over news, put on 35c to 1085 c.

Oil Search continued to attract the sellers and was marked down 4c to 91c on heavy turnover.

On the industrial boards B.H.P. was again easier, with the shares taking off 40c to 2130 c.

MELBOURNE Minings were a little firmer on the Melbourne Stock Exchange, with nickels making small gans. Rises outnumbered falls. Industries rose again slightly, but B.H.P. eased 40c to close at 2140 c. Oils were variable with OU Search and Exoil both lower.
