EXHIBITION OUTFIT

A New Zealand cross-bred wool outfit will be included in a British fashion parade this week.

The parade will be before world leaders of the woollen industry, on a special train taking them from London to Ilkley, Yorkshire, on September 5 for the official opening of the International Wool Secretariat technical centre. The New Zealand ensemble, made from 48s quality wool, was shown to the managing director of the International Wool Secretariat (Mr W, J. Vines) during his visit to the Wool Board last week. The wool-growing countries and I.W.S. branches were each asked to send a garment representative of their country to the British parade. To set the scene for New Zealand, a heather-toned flecked tweed was chosen from the new range of Wanganui Woollen Mills. The town and country ensemble was made by Tarantella of Auckland. The coat fits and flares. The two-part

dress, the top of which is a constrast of soft jersey in purple heather, has a casual air. It will be worn with a stitched beret in tweed to , match.

Modelling the outfit for Mr Vines in the photograph is a Yorkshire girl, Michelle Paul, who has lived In New Zealand since she left Huddersfield five years ago.
