Laidlaw Not In Squad
The All Black half-back, C. R. Laidlaw, will not be available for the Canterbury Rugby team again this season. The Canterbury selectors (Professor J. D. Stewart and Mr M. J. Dixon) last evening announced their training squad of 21 for the final five matches of the season. Laidlaw will leave soon to study at Oxford University. However, Canterbury has two fine half-backs, L. Davis and L. Dixon. Davis was the first choice for the position until Laidlaw transferred from Dunedin to Christchurch. Canterbury’s next match is against Otago on Saturday.
The squad is: L. Davis, L. Dixon, N. J. Stokes, B. A. Watt, W. D. Cottrell, H. Joseph, R. Woolhouse, R. Cocks, P. Hatchwell, W. F. McCormick, A. Hopkinson, A. McLellan, K. J. Tanner, J. N. Creighton, W. Risman, M. R. Perkins, J. F. Burns, I. A. Kirkpatrick, A. Wyllie, I. H. Penrose, C. Cochrane. Training at the lighted ground. 5.30 p.m., Tuesday. —Advt
