Many Seek Toheroas
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. Hundreds of people made for West’Coast beaches when the two-season ban on toheroas was lifted today. Crowds were reported at beaches from Foxton to Te Horo, in spite of bitter weather.
Reports indicated that most people were getting their quota—lo a person arid 30 a motor-vehicle—and that the toheroas were a good size. There were no reports tonight of prosecutions pending against people who had taken too many.
