TOKYO, September 1

Labour experts of 26 nations meet in Tokyo for 12 days from tomorrow to thrash out plans for developing Asia’s manpower resources. During the sixth Asian regional conference of the international Labour Organisation, a specialised agency associated with the United Nations. they hope to complete a long-term plan to promote work opportunities and training so that the people of the developing countries can participate in their development and share the fruits. The conference also aims at co-ordinating national policies in Asia.

The delegates include representatives of Governments, employers and workers in these 26 countries: Afghanistan, Australia, Britain, Burma, Cambodia, Ceylon, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia. Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, the Soviet Union, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and South Vietnam.
