NOMINEE AT MANUKAU

Son Of Labour President (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 30. Mr R. O. Douglas, aged 30, son of Mr N. V. Douglas, member of Parliament for Auckland Central and president of the Labour Party, has been chosen as Labour candidate for Manukau. Six sought the nomination for the seat, which is now held by Mr C. J. Moyle. He has been endorsed as the Labour candidate for the neighbouring seat of Mangere, a new electorate. Mr R. O. Douglas is an accountant and company secretary. Two sitting Labour members, Mr P. A. Amos and Mr R. J. Tizard, have been confirmed as the candidates for Manurewa and Pakuranga respectively.
