The market failed to show any significant trend and was virtually unchanged on the exchange yesterday. B.H. South was the bright spot on a rather quiet mining market, with the shares gaining 12c to 662 c. Nickel stocks were uneven with C.R.A. continuing to drift downwards, but Metals Exploration put on 30c to 1060 c. Drug Houses and Henry Jones starred on the industrial boards, D.H.A. rose from a last sale Thursday of 105 c to a high of 210 c before easing back to 195 c. A report issued by the directors said that they know no reason for the rise in the price of the company’s shares. Henry Jones put on 27c to 380 c earlier in the day. Sales.—B.H. MELBOURNE Mining was variable with generally small moves only. Falls outnumbered rises. New B.H. was steady at 1890, Loloma rose 30c to 740 c and Gold Fields added 10c to 920 c. On the other hand Western Mining lost 30c to 1290 c and C.R.A. fell to 2200 c, down 50c. Oils were slightly easier with Exoil up 3c to a closing price of 58c and Oil Search closing at 94c, a loss of 11c. Industrials were slightly higher with rises outnumbering falls.
