The University Motor Club will hold a mapreading rally on Sunday. Drivers will be briefed at 1.30 p.m., and the event will start from the Ham Students Union car-park and last about two hours and a half. The map required is SB3, fourth edition. * » #
R. Unser, the winner of the 1968 Indianapolis race, has replaced Richard Attwood in the B.R.M. works formula I team. His first drive will be in the Italian Grand Prix, when a new, lighter B.R.M. may compete.
The Ellesmere Motor Club’s Lupp Cup rally was won by P. Northover (Riley), with J. F. Gallag. her (Cortina) second, R. W. Simes (Austin) third, D. F. Parris (Citroen) fourth and M. J. Curragh (Herald) fifth. The team prize was won by the Canterbury Car Club A team, with the R.A.T.E.C. team second and the M.G. Car Club team third. * * * The R.A.T.E.C. club night rally recently was won by R. Bell, with L. N. Candy second, M. Curragh third and J. Meyer fourth. The event covered about 48 miles through Prebbleton, Broadfield, Lincoln and Halswell. It was organised by R. Simes.
