New Cleansing Agents On Sale

Two new products for clothes cleaning are being marketed in Christchurch by Levers (N.Z.), Ltd, and S.T.S. Group Sales. They are known as pre-wash enzyme soakers. When used to soak dirty and stained clothing before machine washing, the enzymes break up the protein, fat and carbohydrates that constitute most food and clothing .stains. Stains can be easily removed in normal washing without the use of a bleach.

The soakers can be used in warm or cold water. They act only on the stains and cannot harm fabrics or colours.

One product is Bio Luvil, which is packed in a 12oz packet. The suggested retail price is 30c. The other is Bio Prep, packed in a 16oz packet and the suggested retail price is 39c.

Cocktail Snack.—Oyster slices, a new form of cocktail snack are being released in Christchurch under the brand name of Twin Peach, maker of shrimp slices. Packed in a 4oz packet

with cooking instructions, this product has a suggested price of 25c.

Hair Spray.—Levers (N.Z.), Ltd, has announced the release in the South Island of Sunsilk hair spray. This product has been available in the North Island since September last year. There are three varieties of the spray for different types of hair—normal, dry and oily. The spray has a suggested retail price of 97c.

Gravy Mix.—This product, packed under the Maggi brand, is a rich gravy mix. There are three sachets to a packet, each yielding eight fluid ounces of gravy. The suggested retail price is 19c. Plum Pudding.—The manufacturer of Betty Crocker cakes and puddings is releasing a new product, rich plum pudding, in Christchurch. The contents are pre-cooked in the can. The suggested retail price will be 38c for a 12oz can. Price Increases.—Some price Increases this week are Cooper’s fly spray (6oz and 16oz), Renco junket (4oz bottles), St George Mincemeat (Boz and 16oz jars) and St George beef steak casserole.

Pudding Mix.—The latest flavour to be added to the range of Edmonds self-saucing sponge mixes is apple sultana. Some interesting variations to the standard recipe appear on the 9oz packet, which has a suggested retail price of 29c.
