CHANCE OF MEDAL

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Wellington swimmer, Miss P. Chapman, has improved her chances of winning a medal at the Mexico Olympics afte- two weeks in California, during which she swam her best times over her Olympic distances. In the “San Francisco Examiner” swimming meeting at Foothills College. Los Altos, Miss Chapman swam 2:28.5 for the 200 metres individual medley, one of the five best times this year. She won gold medals in the 200 and 400 metres medley events, a silver in the 100 metres backstroke, and a bronze in the 100 metres butterfly.
