“ONE TRIP” BOTTLES
Opposition From A.A.
(N Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Aug. 28.
The New Zealand Automobile Association will establish liaison with the Municipal and Counties Associations in opposition to the nonreturnable “one trip” softdrink bottles now coming on to the market.
Although the council of the Automobile Association, meeting in Wellington today, was told that the non-return-able bottles would never make up more than 3 per cent of the total soft-drink market, members agreed to press their strong opposition to the bottles. The association was against any proposal that would increase broken glass in public places to which A.A. members had access, said the president, Mr H. W. Dowling.
