ELECTRONIC SCARECROW.—This device scares flocks of birds away from orchards, vineyards, and airport runways. It emits appropriate warning cries for different kinds of birds. Designed and manufactured by a West German firm, it is simply built, has no moving parts, and is hard-wearing. As the sounds intended for some birds are emitted at very high frequencies, the noise disturbs people very little.
