MEAT FOR EXPORT
Investigation ‘Too Slow’
(N Z. Press Association)
HAMILTON, Aug. 27.
The investigation by the Meat Export Development Company of the form of New Zealand meat cuts for the overseas market was going too slowly, the president of Waikato Federated Farmers (Mr M. G. Hewitt) said today. America required meat mainly in the form of cuts, he said.
“But there is still disagreement within New Zealand about the precise form this cutting should take and whether it should be done here or in the country of destination. It is important that tests on cuts be done as soon as possible," he said.
