Ashburton Competitions Results

The biggest class in this year’i festival of the Ashburton Competitions Society, the McGregor Cup for the girl’a tap dance 12 years and over, was won on Monday evening by Miss Maureen Foley, of Christchurch, with 86 points. She was one of 41 competitors in the class, from as far afield as Timaru and the West Coast. One point behind, in second place, was Miss Beverley Clark (Greymouth) and Miss lola Smith (Timaru) was third, with 84 points. The class was held during the official opening of the festival, which continues until Saturday night.
