Unusual Tennis Move
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association yesterday appointed a member living outside the Wellington district to its management committee. The association voted Mr J. W. Gunn (North Shore, Auckland) to the committee at its annual meeting in Wellington. It is believed Mr Gunn is the first member from outside the Wellington district to be elected to the committee. As a result of a motion,
which increased the committee from seven to nine, and the retirement of last year’s deputy chairman, Mr E. H. Moston (Hutt Valley), three new members were required. Two of the vacancies were filled by Mr M. C. Healey, a former Canterbury chairman now living in Wellington, and Mr J. T. Eichelbaum (Hutt Valley). It was suggested that the management committee fill the remaining vacancy, but before this was put to the meeting North Shore nominated Mr Gunn.
Mr J. S. Lugton (Waikato) was elected president of the association.
