NURSES DEMONSTRATE.—Nearly 2000 nurses took part in this march on No. 10 Downing Street, London, to demand better pay for themselves and better conditions for their patients. The nurses, led by Sister Patricia Veal, of London’s South Western Hospital, have formed an organisation with the slogan, “Unite and Fight.” Sister Veal claims that the campaign represented most of the younger nurses in Britain.
