Condemned To Death
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyrightl SAIGON, August 27. A military court has sentenced an 18-year-old Viet Cong terrorist to death and his 15-year-old companion to 15 years hard labour. The sentences were passed yesterday in the northern city of Da Nang by a special military court against whose decisions there is no appeal. Nguyen Van Tu, who was bom in the province of Quang Nam, in the north of South Vietnam, was condemned to death for his part in a Viet Cong attack on Da Nang last week. It was said that both he and his companion, Nguyen Van Luc, were part of a force which attempted to sabotage the Da Nang radio station. The two youths, who pleaded not guilty, were captured during the attack and charged with revolt against the State, plotting murder and illegally using weapons.
