LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

(1) Letters sent to the Editor for printing should preferably be typed, otherwise they must be written in ink on one side of the paper only. A legible signature and full address are re quired whether these are to be published or not A P.O box number is not a sufficient address. <2> Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. (3) The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for printing-, nor can he acknowledge unsuitable tetters, although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence. <4) Letters must not be of more than 150 words. M. J. Mitchell.—Yes. For Relief in Biafra.—Forwarded to C.0.R.5.0. Constant Reader.—See article on “each" in Fowler’s "Modern English Usage." New Age.—Sorry; we have no space for another correspondence on world population just now. Father-of Five.—We appreciate the brevity, but it is necessary to state the size of the bottle and the former price. J. S. Wilkinson.—You seem to assume that one or two re. ported speakers at the conference represent the views of the “bishops.” Your concern is probably far from justified. We have no space for the discussion. E. Gilchrist.—Closed. Joy Unconfined.—Unacceptable.
