Campus Contraceptives
Sir,—With New Zealand’s reputation for illegitimacy and venereal disease, the students may be said to reflect our sord'd sexual morals; but, as a taxpayer, I am concerned that they should have spare money for contraceptives. I feel that the generous increases In bursaries were not intended for this purpose. Since I was a student before the war, the education vote has increased about 2000 per emit: hut there is a limit to what th" taxpayer should provide for students. Many of them take no degrees, but the man in the street Is gradually learning how their time Is spent at his expense.— Yours, etc., TAXPAYER. August 24, 1968. Children On Buses Sir,—A quiet request in the ear of a young bus-sitter will achieve a miracle not possible by dead laws —Yours, etc., TIRED PARENT. August 23, 1968.
